 Denver County Colorado Real Estate

Denver is the state capital of Colorado, and Denver County, at 5,280 feet above sea level - is known as The Mile High City.  Denver is a City and a County.  There is an estimated 588,000 people living in the City and County of Denver which makes it the 26th most populated county in the United States. Denver County has over 200 parks including a 330 acre City Park between the Denver Zoo and the Denver Museum of Nature and Science. Denver originally started as a mining town in 1858, when gold was discovered in Cherry Creek. After the Gold Rush was over, Denver became a city and a county in 1902.  Currently, the Denver Colorado Real Estate market is rated as one of the best in the nation - and still ranks in the Top 25 Best housing markets nationally.  See more city information at our home page.

Denver International Airport serves the entire city of Denver and surrounding cities and counties.  Opened in 1995 replacing the old Stapleton airport DIA is the largest international airport in the United States and the third largest international airport in the world.   It serves as the world headquarters of Frontier Airlines and it is also United Airlines hub.  The terminals roof is designed to look like the famous Rocky Mountains.  The Rocky Mountains sit just west of Denver.   A train connects the terminal and all three concourses.  There is also a Pedestrian bridge between the terminal and concourse.

The historic Union Station is located on the west end of the 16th Street Mall.  The station serves the Regional Transportation Districts Light Rail Line.  It also serves passenger trains and has a ski train between Denver and Winter park.  Union Station will be expanded to support Light rail lines as a part of the Fastracks program from RTD.  Plans are made to extend Light Rail service to DIA and west to Golden.  The C and E lines run from Union station along the same tracks to I-25 and Broadway then the E line splits and runs South East while the C line runs south west.   The D line runs from 30th and Downing to Littleton along with the C Line.  The F and H line serve a portion of the D line Route between I 25 and Broadway and 18th and California.

A free mall ride runs along the sixteenth street mall stopping at every intersection along the entire mall.  Shops and resturaunts line the mall.

Coors Field
The green row of seats at Coors Field is located exactly one mile above sea level.  The Right Field stands offer a beautiful view of the Rocky Mountains.  There’s no better place to be then a night game at Coors field on a 70 degree night.  The atmosphere in Coors field at Game 3 of the NLDS was unbelievable.  Game 3 of the 2007 NLDS against the Phillies was spectacular.  Denver air is slightly thinner then at sea level.  In 2002 a humidor was installed to keep the baseballs.  Before that the thin air would really make the balls fly as they would harden and shrink in the thin air.  Alan Roach was the voice of Coors until 2007 when he stepped down.  Reed Saunders is the current voice.  Opened in 1995
