ARAPAHOE COUNTY COLORADO - and Arapahoe County Real Estate

In 1855, the Kansas Territorial Legislative created Arapahoe County, and then in 1858, gold was discovered alongside the South Platte River in Arapahoe County.  This impulse triggered the Pikes Peak Gold Rush.  In 1859 the Jefferson Territorial Legislative organized 12 counties for the new territory, including Arapahoe County. AURORA

CENTENNIAL

Centennial Colorado was originated in 2001 and was one of the largest incorporations of its kind in US history.  Residents voted to incorporate the city, in which it officially became a city on February 7, 2001.  With 28.34 square miles and approximately 103,000 residents, Centennial and Centennial real estate is the 7th largest city in the metro Denver area.  Always making residents feel comfortable and welcome, citizens are included in the “Centennial Vision” as plans are made for the future growth of the city.  With beautiful well-kept neighborhoods, successful economy and a diverse and friendly business environment, although a young city, there are many opportunities to plan the future of Centennial.

LITTLETON

The city of Littleton, incorporated March 13, 1890, is the 17th most heavily populated city in Colorado.  The suburb south of Denver is 13.9 square miles, with a population of approximately 41,519.  The city of Littleton encourages citizens to attend monthly breakfasts and citizen forums.  This is a great opportunity to speak publicly with the city council staff and learn about city projects.  Littleton is known for its natural beauty and comfortable living.

FUN THINGS TO DO IN ARAPAHOE COUNTY...

Many residents enjoy boating, fishing, swimming, bicycling and picnicking at any three public reservoirs that Aurora has to offer, also including 80 public parks and seven public golf courses throughout the city.  Residents can also engage in more than 8,000 recreation programs offered throughout the year by the Library and Recreation Services Department. 

Skiing is the number one pastime of citizens, but if you don’t ski or snowboard, don’t get discouraged because its not all Colorado is famous for. Mountain climbing, hiking, trail riding, mountain biking, golf, rock climbing, tennis, swimming, and water skiing are available to do locally as well!

Today, the Parks and Recreation Department maintain over 135 acres, including 17 parks and greenbelts.  Residents are encouraged to use the facilities offered at the 54,000-square foot Englewood Recreation Center features consisting of an Olympic-size pool, running track, basketball courts, aerobic workout rooms, and racquetball courts. The Englewood Municipal Golf Course has 18 holes with putting and chipping greens, a driving range and clubhouse.

The city of Littleton is known for its beautifully restored downtown buildings, Town Hall Arts Center and the Littleton Historical Museum.  Also, including the 625-acre South Platte Park, South Platte River, High Line Canal Trail, Lee Gulch, Arapahoe Greenway and Carson Nature center residents have the opportunity to boat, bike, hike, swim, skate, golf, ride horses and play baseball, softball and soccer.

With the favorable weather here in Colorado, residents have unlimited access to fun outdoor activities, as well as numerous indoor activities also!
